Characters
Cupid
Cupid is the Latin name for Eros in Greek. They are the god of desire, erotic love, attraction, and affection. Traditionally, Cupid is the son of Venus and Mars and is used in stories to set a plot in motion. In our story, Cupid is expressed as a femme.
We wanted to incorporate some of Cupid’s classic symbols:
In classic mythology, Cupid is said to carry a bow and arrow and their source of power. Our Cupid holds their power within, but still wears these symbolic earrings at all times.
In classic poetry, Cupid was portrayed as a bee who came out from beneath the rose buses with the sting of love. We incorporated their origins on their rose sweater.
Terra
Terra is the Latin word for Earth. She is an Earth goddess. She’s most likely to be seen wearing earth tones like green and brown. And has an effortless and sultry sense of style.
She has a chill personality. She’s no nonsense yet nurturing and loving, grounded, and wise.
Lily
Lily represents the element of water. They are a gentle dreamer whose personality compliments Terra, and sports an androgynous sense of style.
Jelly
Jelly represents fire. She’s the most passionate of the bunch. She believes in love and is quirky and funny. Her style mirrors her personality. She loves vintage, sexy, but fun styles. She’s drawn to bright colors and loves to be seen.
Matt
Spoiler alert! — Matt is Jelly’s boyfriend, but soon to be ex. He is hot on the outside, but secretly a coward. The classic “nice guy” who isn’t actually nice. You know, the one who is passive aggressive and doesn’t tell you what he needs and blames you for not being a mind-reader.
Eddie
To complete the elements, Eddie represents wind. You can see him in warm yellows to represent joy, optimism, and fun. He compliments Jelly’s style and personality. He has a preppy nerd skater style, and we love him for Jelly because he’s thoughtful and kind on the inside.
